Cigarette Smoking – Extremely addictive

Unlike before, people are not shocked anymore when they see even teen girls smoking cigarettes. But it is very much true that cigarette smoking proves to be extremely injurious to health. Cigarette smoking is one of the most addictive habits ever. Research shows that cigarette smoking is more addictive than drug addiction and even alcohol addiction.
Research shows that each year about 4 million people die in America alone due to cigarette smoking. Imagine what would be the death toll in the other parts of the world. Cancer of the different parts of the body such as mouth, throat and lungs is because of excessive smoking habits. Nearly 30% of all cancer cases in the world are the consequence of excessive smoking.
The other body parts that are affected due to cigarette smoking are the stomach, the esophagus, the pancreases, the cervix and the kidney. Majority of the lung cancer deaths are the results of smoking. In fact about 87% of all lung cancer deaths are caused due to this habit. Today it is not uncommon to see even men and women getting hooked to this habit. Smoking has proven to be more injurious to women then men. It weakens their reproductive system which often leads to cases of miscarriage.
A typical cigarette contains 4,000 harmful chemicals and substances including tobacco, tar and nicotine. It is the high addictive properties of mainly nicotine and tobacco that leads one to cigarette smoking. Those people who are hooked to the habit find it impossible to kick the butt in the later stages. In fact the tobacco found in cigarettes is the major factor for increased mortality rate in women. The best way to get out of cigarette smoking is to prevent it in the first place. It is often said that prevention is better than cure and this proverb applies to cigarette smoking as well. So even if any of your friends try to force you in the habit, do not accede to their demands. That one puff will change your life forever. There are very few people who still try smoking but can leave the habit whenever they want to. For majority of the people this is not always possible.
